Andy Pickles 2024 Memorial Ambrose Event

It was a Melbourne Cup Day to remember with the island drenched in sunshine and the course showcased at its very best. It’s no wonder the outsiders pulled out their best performance to take out the cup. Congratulations to the winning team, Sophie Gole, Adam Phillips, Samuel Fitzsimmons and Jeff Reed. Coming out on top of a packed field of 116 players is no mean feat!

Second-place was awarded to Zac Jones, Nicholas Lewis, Shaun Fankhauser and Fletcher Long. Club members, James Monahan, Murray Warren, Neil Petrie and James Gladman represented with a solid third placing.

Longest drive of the day was Harrison Worth with a massive distance of 301 metres for the men and Jo Shewchuk won the women’s longest drive. Nearest the Pin awards were given to Trevor Corless (3rd), Femie Kroes (9th – women’s), James Gladman (9th – men’s) and Darren Shapter (14th). 

One of our local faves, 360Q Restaurant, provided a delicious lunch, with our club crew and volunteers providing outstanding efforts to deliver another successful event!
